Humidity sensing properties of (Na0.5Bi0.5)0.94Ba0.06 TiO3 lead-free ferroelectrics ceramics

In this study, the humidity detection properties of ceramic with composition (Na0.5Bi0.5)0.94Ba0.06TiO3, noted (NBT-06BT), were investigated. The NBT-06BT was synthesized by semi-solid method and characterized X-ray diffraction (XRD) scanning electron microscopy (SEM). NBT-BT material sintered at 1100?C, crystallizes in tetragonal system without any secondary phase presents a heterogeneous distribution polyhedral shaped grains open intergranular porosities. electrical dielectric investigations show that exhibits excellent characteristics such as high sensitivity, good linearity narrow hysteresis. impedance decreases three orders magnitude when relative increases from 15 % to 90 100 Hz. maximum hysteresis value sensor is 4.69 RH. response time recovery are about 68 s 125 respectively. Moreover, sensing mechanism has been discussed detail analyzing complex spectra. These results indicate potential application sensor.

Giant electric-field-induced strain of 0.70%, corresponding to a d33 * value of 1400 pm V(-1) , is observed in a lead-free (Bi1/2 Na1/2 )TiO3 -based polycrystalline ceramic. This is comparable to the properties of single crystals. An in situ transmission electron microscopy study indicates that the excellent performance originates from phase transitions under the applied electric fields.
